We grew up in a chaotic, beautiful house bursting with kids, laughter, and an unspoken rule: the best treasures were always found in our mother’s freezer. Our grandparents had brought a deep, uncompromising love for baking with them from Hungary, a tradition our mother perfected. Her freezer was a legendary vault, constantly stocked with the most incredible cakes, cookies, and her signature babka and chocolate rugelach—always ready for us, and always ready for unexpected guests. To us, that freezer wasn't just a kitchen appliance; it was the gold standard of baking. As we grew up, we noticed a frustrating pattern. Every time we bought a pastry from a commercial bakery, we left disappointed. The quality was traded for volume; the passion was replaced by preservatives. We constantly found ourselves saying, "It's just not worth the calories." Every time we wanted something truly delicious, we didn't go to a storefront—we went shopping in our mom's freezer. Over the years, we joked about sharing her recipes with the world. Then came a turning point. We were both looking for our next chapter, brainstorming what we truly cared about, and the answer was right in front of us. It was time to build a bakery that refused to compromise. Today, we run the bakery as equal partners. Shlomie is behind the scenes, obsessing over bakery operations, perfecting the dough, and refining the production flow to ensure every batch is flawless. Yoely is the face of the business, focusing on the presentation, the community, and building the relationships that make our customers feel like family.
